YUL hosted a ‘party du quARTtier’ on Sunday. And what a Pop-Up Party! The third artist commissioned by YUL to create a mural along the René-Lévesque hoarding around the development project (between Lucien L’Allier & MacKay), Jasper Wong was there. Great street artists from Wzards Gangs collaborated.
Jasper Wong put the finishing touches on his massive art work, as smart phones snapped the moment. His piece, along with that of Ricardo Cavolo, OMEN 514 and Faith 47, will be cut and framed for auction at a fundraising cocktail for Ste. Justine Hospital, organized by YUL on October 10 (Destination YUL for details).

Montrealers arrived early to watch the street artists start their amazing work.

Food trucks – M. Crémeux and Winneburger – kept everyone’s energy up for dancing to the music of DJs High Klassified and Compton Chic. And the day stayed sunny; at least for awhile. Station 16 silk-screened ‘brown bags’ on site.
Station 16’s cool brown bags.
The street art was fabulous! Ru, of Wzards Gang, and Nixon were closely watched by admirers as they created huge murals on the now-abandoned La Brochetterie, part of the YUL property. The Beat hung out with the crowd.Huge bean bags, thoughtfully provided by MURALE organizer Yan Martel of LNDMRK, were used by couples, families, and one tiny Yorkshire terrier. All in all, a day not to have missed. Then the rains came, but nothing will dampen the memory. At the end of the rains there is always a rainbow!
