Guzzos Host Fabulous Eve

No AR (Augmented Reality) was needed when the Guzzos held their 9th annual Notte in Bianco: Everything was picture-perfect. Well, except for the torrential tropical rain. Undaunted, the elegant Italian couple welcomed guests to their rural residence with valet parkers sporting massive umbrellas.

Evening attire was once again all white, with a ‘touch of blue’. Vincenzo (aka Vince) Guzzo, executive vp and COO Cinemas Guzzo, was resplendent in a bespoke suit and pants subtly ‘dipinto di blu’. His wife Maria, author of How to Train your Dreams and vp Community Affairs, Cinemas Guzzo, looked fabulous in a short white lace vintage Gucci dress. The eve’s co-presidents of honor were Westmounters Rosemary and Mel Hoppenheim, who attended with their children Mel Jr. and Caroline.

The eve was in support of children’s mental health research and projects. Proceeds will benefit Shriners Hospitals for Children, the Jewish General Hospital, KWN (Kids Write Network) and McGill University. Emcees were Orla Johannes (with hubby Chris Konstantopoulos) and Sonia Benezra. They both wore white lace: Sonia’s to the floor; Orla’s with a hemline more haute.

They gave a shout out to Rosetta and Angelo Guzzo, president Cinemas Guzzo. Amidst muted palette of pales – the dress requested was white – were Westmounters Michaela and Michael Penner, board chair Hydro Quebec; Lisa and Mark Smith, president of Pandion Investments;

Barry Garber and Wilson Phillips

Barry Garber and Wilson Phillips vocal group. Wow!

Go Barry! Also noted in the beautifully-lit tent were Gino Berretta, chair Shriners’ board of governors; and Dr. Danielle Groleau, associate professor McGill and senior researcher at the Lady Davis Medical Institute (JGH). Ruinart champagne flowed freely as the LBD-clad (Little Black Dress) Buona Notte team served an amazing meal, including wild mushroom pasta. Delizioso! Exactly what would one expect from Buona Notte Catering, ably directed by Marie Pier Therrien. (BTW, she wore an on-trend long pony tail, as did Maria Guzzo, and Michaela Penner among others)

Magic moments as guests took photos of the fab three singers!

Wines were sponsored by SAQ. Surprise guest was the vocal group Wilson Phillips; Carnie and Wendy Wilson (daughters of the Beach Boys Brian Wilson) and Chynna Phillips (daughter of Michelle and John Phillips, The Mamas and the Papas). They rocked the room in tight black leather pants and great energy. The night ended all too soon, but the finale with sweet, with an array of amazing cupcakes, iced in white of course – with a dipinto di blue.  The 10th event is already being planned. (Each year is sold out btw for excellent causes) A presto!cup
